Teamwork Therapies is seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide in-home Early Intervention services to infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years of age) with developmental delays or disabilities in Modesto and surrounding communities. The Occupational Therapist will conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based interventions, and coach caregivers to support children’s development within their natural environments.

Essential Responsibilities

Evaluations and Assessments

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for children from birth to 3 years of age.
  • Assess developmental skills including:
    • Fine motor development
    • Visual motor integration
    • Sensory processing
    • Self-help and adaptive skills
    • Play skills
    • Feeding and oral-motor skills (as appropriate)
    • Positioning and postural control
  • Select and administer standardized and non-standardized assessment tools.
  • Prepare detailed evaluation reports with clinical findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) meetings as needed.

Treatment Services

  • Provide individualized occupational therapy services in the child’s home or other natural environments.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on evaluation findings and IFSP goals.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to improve functional participation and developmental outcomes.
  • Address sensory processing, fine motor skills, self-care skills, play, motor planning, and environmental adaptations.
  • Modify interventions based on the child’s progress and changing needs.

Family Coaching and Education

  • Coach parents and caregivers using a family-centered approach.
  • Educate caregivers on strategies to promote developmental skills during daily routines.
  • Recommend home activities, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications.
  • Empower families to carry over therapy techniques between visits.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, infant development specialists, service coordinators, physicians, and other professionals.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding progress and recommendations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings as required.

Documentation

  • Complete evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries accurately and within required timelines.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with Regional Center, payer, and Teamwork Therapies requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current California Occupational Therapist license in good standing.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.
  • Ability to travel to client homes within the assigned service area.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children birth to 3 years of age.
  • Experience with Early Start or Regional Center programs.
  • Knowledge of IFSP development and family-centered intervention.
  • Experience with sensory integration, feeding therapy, and developmental assessments.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, Punjabi, or other languages) are highly desirable.
