HR Generalist
About this role
Position Summary
Teamwork Therapies is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and people-focused HR Generalist to support day-to-day Human Resources operations while also assisting with recruiting activities across the organization.
This role will support employee onboarding, personnel records, benefits administration, HR documentation, compliance, employee communications, and other HR processes. The HR Associate will also partner with the recruiting team to source candidates, coordinate interviews, maintain candidate pipelines, and support hiring efforts for clinical, school-based, administrative, and other positions.
The ideal candidate is proactive, responsive, highly organized, and comfortable balancing multiple HR and recruiting priorities in a fast-paced healthcare and education environment.
Human Resources Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day HR operations across Teamwork Therapies.
- Coordinate new-hire onboarding, including required paperwork, employment forms, background checks, credential verification, and orientation activities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records.
- Track employee licenses, certifications, credentials, background clearances, and other required documentation.
- Assist with employee status changes, transfers, compensation updates, promotions, and other personnel actions.
- Support benefits enrollment, employee benefit questions, and communication with benefit providers as assigned.
- Assist with PTO, sick leave, attendance, and other employee-record tracking.
- Prepare employment letters, offer letters, verification letters, HR notices, and other employee documentation.
- Support payroll preparation by coordinating employee changes, new hires, terminations, and other relevant HR information with payroll personnel.
- Assist with employee relations matters by documenting concerns and escalating issues to HR leadership as appropriate.
- Respond to routine employee HR questions and direct more complex matters to the appropriate HR leader.
- Support performance review processes, corrective-action documentation, and employee development initiatives.
- Assist with maintenance and communication of company policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
- Support HR compliance efforts related to employment records, required postings, training, and documentation.
- Coordinate offboarding activities, including termination paperwork, return of company property, access removal, and exit documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee, payroll, benefits, immigration, and other sensitive information.
- Assist HR leadership with audits, reports, spreadsheets, and workforce data as needed.
Recruiting Responsibilities
- Assist with full-cycle recruiting for clinical, school-based, administrative, and operational positions.
- Post and maintain job openings on LinkedIn, Indeed, university career platforms, professional association sites, and other recruiting channels.
- Source candidates for SLP, OT, PT, SLPA, COTA, PTA, EIS/IDS, School Psychologist, Special Education Teacher, BCBA, administrative, and other positions.
- Review resumes and conduct initial candidate screening calls when assigned.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates, recruiters, hiring managers, and clinical leadership.
- Maintain accurate candidate records, interview notes, follow-up activities, and hiring status.
- Communicate with candidates throughout the recruiting process and provide timely updates.
- Support candidate outreach through LinkedIn, email, referrals, career fairs, and university partnerships.
- Build and maintain candidate pipelines for frequently recruited and difficult-to-fill positions.
- Assist with career fairs, recruiting events, professional conferences, and university outreach.
- Coordinate reference checks and pre-employment documentation as required.
- Assist with offer preparation and coordinate candidate acceptance and start dates.
- Ensure a smooth transition from recruiting to HR onboarding after an offer is accepted.
- Track recruiting metrics such as open positions, candidate pipeline, interviews, offers, and hiring status.
- Support referral campaigns and other recruiting initiatives for urgent or high-priority positions.
- Assist with recruiting for Teamwork Therapies’ geographic expansion and new service lines.
- Identify candidates requiring OPT, CPT, H-1B, or other employment authorization and coordinate with HR leadership as appropriate.
Administrative & Coordination Responsibilities
- Maintain HR and recruiting spreadsheets, trackers, and reports.
- Schedule HR meetings, interviews, orientations, and employee appointments.
- Assist with preparation of presentations, employee communications, training materials, and HR reports.
- Coordinate with front office, clinical leadership, payroll, billing, recruiting, and operations teams as needed.
- Follow up on outstanding employee or candidate documentation.
- Support HR projects and process-improvement initiatives.
- Perform other HR and recruiting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in Human Resources, recruiting, administration, or a related role preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with employees, candidates, and leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and HR/recruiting systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in healthcare, pediatric therapy, education, staffing, or a related industry.
- Experience recruiting licensed healthcare professionals or school-based professionals.
- Familiarity with California employment practices and HR documentation.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, or similar recruiting tools.
- Experience supporting benefits, payroll coordination, credential tracking, or employee onboarding.
