About this role

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Occupational Therapist to provide school-based services for students across TK–12th grade in Mountain House CA. The Occupational Therapist will assess, plan, and deliver therapy services to support students whose fine motor, sensory, self-care, and functional needs impact their ability to participate in the educational environment. This role is integral in supporting student success, inclusion, and access to their academic programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services to students ranging from Pre-K to 8th grade
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
  • Deliver individualized and small-group occupational therapy services aligned with student IEP goals.
  • Support students in accessing curriculum, improving classroom participation, and developing functional independence.
  • Provide consultative services to teachers, aides, and families regarding sensory strategies, adaptive tools, environmental modifications, and behavior regulation strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive OT assessments for referred students, evaluating fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-help skills, posture, and overall functional abilities related to school participation.
  • Provide screenings and contribute to eligibility determinations for special education services.
  • Prepare detailed evaluation reports and present findings to IEP teams.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (teachers, psychologists, SLPs, parents, administrators) to develop appropriate goals and accommodations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes, service logs, and IEP updates.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans based on ongoing needs

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid California Occupational Therapist License (Board of Occupational Therapy).
  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Strong understanding of California special education regulations, IEP processes, and school-based OT practices.
  • Pediatric or school-based experience supporting students with diverse needs, including autism, ADHD, orthopedic impairments, sensory processing challenges, and learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and related service providers.
  • Previous experience in a California public school district.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
  • Bilingual skills (not required but a plus).
Work Schedule & Environment
  • Full-time position (typically aligned with school calendar).
  • Caseload of approximately 50–55 students across multiple school sites.
  • Primarily school-based work with a mix of direct therapy, indirect consultation, documentation, and team collaboration.
