Social Pragmatic Therapy
Helping children build meaningful connections through communication that goes beyond words and focuses on developing everyday interaction skills.
Social Pragmatic
at Teamwork Therapies
At Teamwork Therapies, we understand that communication extends far beyond words, it’s about connection, awareness, and understanding the people and world around us.
Our Social Pragmatic Therapy program is designed to support children, adolescents, and adults in developing meaningful relationships by enhancing their ability to think socially, interpret cues, and respond appropriately across a variety of real-life situations.
Our
Approach
At Teamwork Therapies, we use the Social Thinking® framework developed by Michelle Garcia Winner, a cognitive-behavioral approach that teaches individuals how and why people think, feel, and behave in social situations.
Rather than simply focusing on “what to say” or “how to act,” our therapy helps clients understand the thought process behind social behavior. This deeper understanding enables them to apply social thinking naturally, whether in the classroom, on the playground, at work, or at home. Each session combines structured lessons, role-playing, and real-life practice to strengthen social awareness, problem-solving, and communication confidence.
What We
Focus on
Through our Social Pragmatic Therapy sessions, we help clients:
- Recognize and interpret nonverbal cues such as facial expressions, tone of voice, and body language.
- Strengthen conversation skills, including turn-taking, topic maintenance, and showing empathy.
- Manage social anxiety by developing strategies to handle stress in group settings.
- Develop perspective-taking skills, the ability to understand what others may be thinking or feeling.
- Build self-awareness and self-regulation in social interactions.
- Cultivate confidence and adaptability across diverse social environments.

Building Strength
Beyond the Session
At Teamwork Therapies, our goal is not just to teach social rules, but to help individuals feel comfortable and confident being themselves.
We celebrate every step, from initiating a conversation to forming lasting friendships, because each moment reflects meaningful growth.
By combining expertise, empathy, and creativity, we guide each individual toward a richer, more connected social experience, one interaction at a time
